Dr. Latha K
Senior Researcher
Dr. Latha K. is a passionate educationist and a mentor. She believes that teacher empowerment is the cornerstone for building quality education. She obtained her M.Sc and M.Phil degrees in Zoology from Bangalore University. In order to pursue her passion in the field of education, she earned a Master's degree in Elementary education and a Ph.D. from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. She is also a trained Montessorian from India Montessori Training Centre. She has experience teaching in far-ranging student demographics from pre-primary to graduate levels in addition to training and mentoring teachers. She is well-versed in conducting qualitative research in education and has also served in the CSR wing as Associate Manager in the Tech Mahindra Foundation. Her keen interest is in pedagogy for diverse learners. She has a deep innate understanding of the knowledge of quality attributes of teaching-learning resources and teacher empowerment strategies to provide on-site support to teachers. She has presented a paper on mentoring teachers in science education at MIT, Massachusetts. She has worked with a team to develop training modules for academic supervisors in Afghanistan. She has participated in the UNESCO study on teachers in India and a mid-term evaluation study of the CLIX-CL4STEM that eventually became an award winning program of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) Mumbai. This program has proved to be beneficial for the teacher educators in Bhutan, Nigeria and Tanzania. At Prayoga, she is a senior researcher contributing to the implementation of the Kriya Projects.
