Biography

Rakshitha N is a Research Associate at Prayoga, specializing in Life sciences, she completed her M.Sc in Genetics from University of Mysore, her academic project focuses on Type 2 Diabetes mellitus, with the two main Antioxidant genes under Oxidative stress conditions, Apart from that she have hands-on experience in Molecular biology works like Nucleic acid extraction, PCR, RT-qPCR, Agarose gel electrophoresis, Microbial techniques, Drosophila culture and maintenance, karyotyping and performing Biochemical assays, her research emphasizes on Microbial cultures, extracting, isolating, characterization of compounds from plant extracts, chromatographic techniques and performing biochemical assays.

Ongoing Research Projects

1. Characterization of Anti-lipase compounds in plant extracts.
2. Comparative study of Ficus species; Bonsai and Normal trees.
3. Extraction of Geosmin from Streptomyces species.
