Wellness
The work in this thematic area will focus on all the branches of life sciences. The important aspects of protein-rich food, protein chemistry and synthetic peptides for various applications are primarily considered. Research focuses on enzymology and the study of secondary metabolites are to address issues in health and wellness.
The research on enzymes will look into isolating valuable enzymes from different microbial sources for their application in the diagnostic, therapeutic, and environmental fields. Non-invasive techniques for the detection and curing of diseases (using advanced materials and instrumental methods) will be an area of great significance.
Studies on secondary metabolites from plant and microbial sources will involve their isolation, purification, and evaluating components for their efficacies for biological and medicinal applications.
These projects will utilize Biosafety level 2 cabinet, UV-Visible Spectroscopy, Freeze dryer, Polarised microscope, CO2 incubator, inverted phase contrast microscope, laminar air flow, SDS PAGE unit, nanodrop, and deep freezers (-80°C, -20°C).
