I-GYM Workshop 24 – 28 July, 2026
Empowering the next generation of Earth scientists through inquiry, field experiences, innovation, and global collaboration.
The International Geoscience Youth Movement (IGYM) 2026 is a global youth initiative designed to build climate-conscious leaders through Earth Science education. Organized by Prayoga Institute of Education Research in collaboration with the International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO), the second edition of IGYM from 24-28 July 2026 will bring together exceptional high-school students, educators, scientists, and mentors.
The program aims to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the lack of Earth Systems literacy among young people, despite escalating climate crises, biodiversity loss, water stress, and environmental degradation. IGYM 2026 will create an immersive platform where youth engage with real-world environmental challenges with leading Earth scientists and educators.
Following the successful launch of IGYM 2025, which brought together participants from 7 countries and established a strong foundation for international collaboration in geoscience education, the 2026 edition plans to expand its reach to 15 countries

Stories: From Lab to Land
From climate change and biodiversity loss to water stress and sustainability, I-GYM 2026 is where young minds will dive deep into the real challenges shaping our future, learning directly from leading Earth scientists and educators across the world. After a powerful first edition that united participants from 5 countries in 2025, I-GYM 2026 is going bigger and bolder — expanding to 15 countries and building a worldwide community of Earth-conscious youth leaders.
Rewind I -GYM 2025. We hosted students from seven countries for a 5-day immersive workshop. This residential program, organised from 25th to 29th July 2025, was rooted in the Earth Systems Approach. IGYM wove together fieldwork, laboratory experiments, expert-led seminars, and collaborative problem-solving, creating a truly transformative learning journey.
Listen to Eva’s story, an 18-year-old budding innovator from Paris. She was a proud participant of the I- GYM -2025 Workshop at Prayoga. Eva’s interests in geoscience began when she was in high school and she is excited to pursue the subject further in university along with mathematics. As an author, an international speaker, and many other notable titles at such an early age, Eva tells us about her experience during the workshop, another feather in her cap!
