I-GYM Workshop 2026

The International Geoscience Youth Movement (I-GYM) 2026 is a global youth initiative designed to build climate-conscious leaders through Earth Science education. Organized by Prayoga Institute of Education Research in collaboration with the International Geoscience Education Organization (IGEO), the second edition of I-GYM will bring together exceptional high-school students, educators, scientists, and mentors including Dr. Nir Orion, Professor, Weizmann Institute of Science and Chairman, IGEO; Dr. R. Shankar, Former Professor of Marine Geology, Banglore University, Dr. Vikram Vishal, Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Bombay; Dr. Ajit Singh, Principal Researcher, Earth Sciences, Prayoga Institute of Education Research for a transformative residential workshop in Bengaluru.
The program aims to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the lack of Earth Systems literacy among young people, despite escalating climate crises, biodiversity loss, water stress, and environmental degradation. I-GYM 2026 will create an immersive platform where youth engage with real-world environmental challenges with leading Earth scientists and educators.
Following the successful launch of I-GYM 2025, which brought together participants from 7 countries and established a strong foundation for international collaboration in geoscience education, I-GYM 2026 seeks to expand its reach to 15 countries, deepen engagement and cross-cultural collaboration, and build a sustained global movement for Earth Science education.
